▶ Signed a pre-contract in North America for 100 10-ton bulldozers, the company’s first new product since its incorporation into Hyundai Heavy Industries Group
▶ Secured higher engine output and wider field of view to target the global bulldozer market starting with the U.S. accounting for 36% of the market
▶ "To diversify sales channels to emerging markets as well as the domestic market to compete with global top-tier companies”
As the first new product since joining the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, Hyundai Doosan Infracore has released a bulldozer and made inroads into the North American market for the product.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore recently unveiled its 10-ton bulldozer for the first time at a dealership meeting held in Arizona, USA attended by about 120 dealers.
The 10-ton bulldozer introduced by Hyundai Doosan Infracore boasts an engine output about 16% higher than its peers; Equipped with a rear-view camera, it secures a wider field of view when moving either forward or backward.
In particular, it is equipped with a 3D-based automatic blade control system that automatically controls the blade according to the slope, ramping up the accuracy of land leveling, the core function of a bulldozer.
Another advantage of the product is that it not only improves productivity by reducing operation time through the elimination of redundant work, but it also cuts fuel consumption significantly.
The North American dealers showed great interest in the 10-ton bulldozer introduced by Hyundai Doosan Infracore and signed a pre-contract with the company for more than 100 units at the dealer meeting. Hyundai Doosan Infracore plans to start production for the contract volume at its Gunsan plant next year and deliver the bulldozers to the dealers in the third quarter.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore introduced the new product to improve its brand image to major dealers around the world, including those in North America, through the diversification of its product lineup, and to ride the growth momentum of the bulldozer market expected to continue growing. Most notably, as excavators and bulldozers are used together at large-scale construction sites in North America, one of the world’s largest continents, securing a bulldozer lineup is essential to expanding our market share in the market.
In fact, according to Off-Highway Research, a British research institute specializing in construction equipment, 22,847 bulldozers were sold worldwide in 2020, with 8,275 sold in the North American market, or 36% of the total global sales. In addition, the global sales of bulldozers are expected to increase every year and reach 27,728 units in 2025, a 21% increase compared to 2020.
An official from Hyundai Doosan Infracore said, “With the launch of the bulldozer, we expect to enhance our brand image in the North American market through the diversification of our product lineup including excavators and wheel loaders, among others, which we hope will be followed by sales increase,” pledging, “We will compete with global top-tier companies by marketing the bulldozer in emerging markets and Europe as well as the domestic market where large construction companies are showing keen interest in the product.”
